For the past decade, I’ve dreamed of living in Europe. I wanted the rhythm of old cities, the slower pace of village life, and the chance to wea
ve myself into new traditions. My move wasn’t only about leaving something behind—it was about moving toward a vision of life I’d been carrying for years.
At the same time, I know many people today feel an urgent need for safety, belonging, and stability. Some are afraid because of politics, others because of economics, personal freedoms, or simply the pace of life in the U.S. The truth is: people of all demographics and walks of life are feeling unsettled and uncertain.
I wish to meet that moment with this blog.
My intention is to offer:
Guidance for those who dream of moving abroad: visas, housing, cost of living, cultural adaptation, and the joys (and challenges) of building a life in Europe.
Safety and resilience tips for those who are still navigating unrest in the US: practical steps to feel more secure and grounded right where you are.
Stories and reflections: honest accounts of what it’s like to uproot, adapt, and rediscover what “home” can mean.
Why “HearthFinder”?
The hearth has always been a symbol of warmth, safety, and belonging. To me, finding a hearth isn’t just about buying a house or crossing a border—it’s about creating stability, connection, and peace wherever you are, and wherever you may go.
Who This Blog is For
People who have always dreamed of living abroad, no matter their background.
People who feel unsafe or uncertain and want options for safety and stability.
People who are simply curious about what life in Europe is really like.
An Invitation
HearthFinder is a space for anyone longing for safety, possibility, and belonging. My hope is that these posts can serve as both a lantern for those exploring a life abroad and a lifeline for those working to stay safe in the present moment.
Wherever you find yourself today, you are not alone. I hope you will take this journey to home with me.
